Who knowingly buys a haunted mansion in Chicago? A mansion so haunted that not even a developer will touch it? PEEPs originating partner Mike Dupree’s mother, Glenda, knows a deal when she sees it. This beautiful rose-brick mansion has stood since the Chicago fire. The interior is pristine, and the neighborhood is rapidly becoming the place to live in the Windy City. Glenda enters into a provisional sale on Rouston Rose and hires the Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners to clean house. They have one month to identify the problem and escort whomever is haunting the mansion out. If it can’t be done, Glenda is out a packet of money.
From the moment Mia steps into the house, she knows something is wrong. Her intuition has left her, and her ability to communicate silently with Murphy is gone. Whatever resides there is so powerful that it has crippled the most powerful sensitive of her generation. The PEEPs prepare the house for a full investigation while the wind howls outside. Chicago is forecast to have a mild blizzard, if a blizzard can be mild.
Almost immediately, Mia, Cid, and Murphy are taken by the resident ghost Renee. While the snow accumulates outside, the PEEPs struggle to unlock the mystery of the house and get their people back. But Renee is just one petal on the rose of evil that lives and thrives in Roustan Rose.
Come, pull on your warmest sweater, find an afghan to pull around you, and pour a warm cup of your favorite beverage to guard you from the cold. Why? Because A Rose by Any Other Name holds chilling secrets.

A Rose by Any Other Name Haunted Series Book 18 eBook Alexie Aaron
I've been reading the haunted series by Alexie Aaron since last year. After the last book I was really on the fence about future books, but on a lazy Saturday I decided to give the next book a chance.
One of my biggest complaints in the past about the previous books was the amount of sexual tension surrounding Mia. The last book addressed this and I am glad to report while the main plot still pretty much revolves around Mia, at least the book isn't centered around everyone trying to bone her.
Unlike the last book, this one focused on just a single invesgation, which is perfectly fine as it allows Alexie to invest more into a single arc instead of trying to fit multiple stories in a single book.
At this point for the series though, it really is less about the ghost hunting and more about the (possible) impending battle over Earth itself.
For me, I'd really rather have the book focus on one or the other. I am interested in the concept of impending war, but it's still only being teased to be honest.
This may sound really weird for those who aren't fans of Dragonball Z, but the story is really starting to remind me of Dragonball Z. It is focusing on one or two major characters who make major strides in power, even going as far as "transforming".
This isn't such a bad thing, I just hope the other minor characters aren't left behind in the excitement.
Alexie hasn't released a new Peeps Lite in awhile and I hope she gets back around to it. I am interested in other characters besides just Mia.

A Rose by Any Other Name Haunted Series Book 18 eBook Alexie Aaron Reviews
This book was great. Alexie Aaron writes so well that as you read you have a movie running in your head. Her characters feel so real that you want to call them up to get their version of the story. Through out this book you’ll be saying so that’s how or that’s why, ok now I understand. Though she explains a lot in this book, she gives you more to think and wonder about. Just don’t start this book if you have somewhere to go, because you will not want to put it down and she always leaves you wanting more. Bravo Alexie another great book under your belt.
Wow!!!!!!!!! This book was outstanding. I love being reunited with the characters in the Haunted series. They are like old friends to me now. I was particularly pleased to see Ted and Mia back to their old loving selves again. They are the corner stone of the series for me. So Alexie.....does your imagination know no bounds????? I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves the paranormal. Alexis is an outstanding writer. Believe me there are no boring parts to her stories.
Okay I really love this series first off! But it has it's pro's and cons..
Pro's I like how the characters are growing
Murphy has a lady "friend " too cute!
Brian seems like a little cutie pie
Cons
I don't like how things still revolve around Mia. Theres other characters we want to get to know Everyone has to know if she's mad at them if there on good terms it's a little irritating.
I miss the old ghost hunting days now there's more mythical creatures Mia sprouting wings and she's branded by a few too many ppl it's just too much. Like someone else pointed out at least not everyone in this book is trying to bone her. I'll still keep reading this series just moving down on my fav list. -(
I just love love love this series. It is always so hard to wait for the next book, when one is finished.
What I really love the most about the Haunted Series, is the way the characters have changed and developed, over the course of the series.
The Characters are fun! Love how Alexie Aaron has brought in some "mythical" type "people" into the mix.
Really hope this series will go on for a LONG time...If you have not read this series...from the beginning...do yourself a favor and START NOW...
Thank you Alexie for bringing these stories to Life!!!
Angels are sometimes fallen and when they mate with a human woman their offspring are dammed. Mia's uncle, Quentin, is one. How will they have a relationship? What is really living in the rose red mansion? When PEEPs agreed to clear the ghosts out a mansion Mike's mother wishes to purchase they have no idea what they are facing. There are much more than ghosts in this house! How will they even survive? This is the 18th book in the exciting Haunted Series. As always the writing is superb, the cast of characters are all here with area new players and the storyline gets even more interesting. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed the story very much. Unlike some readers, I am not put off by the Series focusing primarily on Mia. I adore Mia and can see how each book builds on the other. With each book, I still learn new things about each character and the plots remain interesting and unique. At this point, almost all of the characters feel real and much like people that I actually know. I actually like how the Series arch is expanding and including new plots, characters, battles and mysteries. I just finished reading book 19 "the Long Game," another winner, but thought that I had better get this review done while it's still fresh in my mind and before reading book 20. I also want to delay reading the latter b/c then I'll have to wait a while before the next book in the Series is released. On that point, I congratulate and thank Alexie for publishing her books rather quickly. Especially since most authors can take 2 yrs or more to publish the next book in a series. The latter can be very frustrating for a rabid fan like me. LOL Overall, this was a very enjoyable read. I've been reading this Series since almost from the beginning and I plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. Keep them coming Alexie and thank you for a delightful Series and outstanding and genuine characters. I adore Brian, Murphy and Mia (i.e. M & M). As any writer know, one won't please everyone but I'm one happy camper. Thanks for sharing your talent and imagination with us.
